I agree with you, I think it is a counterfeit.

Your coin is unfortunately a forgery. The New Orleans Mint did not make any coins from 1862 - 1878, because it was closed. It reopened in 1879. The last Seated dollars were made in 1873. Also, Seated dollars do not have arrows at the date. Your coin was most likely made in China. A genuine 1873 Seated dollar in that condition would be worth hundreds of Euros.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news,

The rims on reverse look too flat and wide for my liking.
The detail around the shield is weak for a coin in this condition.

Two cheap standard tests need to be applied:
1. Weigh it
2. Comparison ring test with a known genuine coin.

Any half dollar with a diameter of 30.6mm, .900 fine 12.5 grammes, in about the same condition can be used for this.

As you have pictured, 'ONE DOL.' is weak, and beading below 'DOL' is non existant.

If you cannot return this coin, keep it. For 6 euros, you have not lost too much money. I keep all fakes that are sold to me as such, for my own education. Just be very careful to whom you give your fakes to when your collection is broken up in later years.
Rest in Peace

Another feature missing on this 1873 fake is the motto "In God We Trust" above the eagle on the reverse. This was added in 1866.
