That is the best roll find I've heard of. The condition and rarity suggest a collection was "cashed in" at some point and ended up in a roll.

This is the equivalent of finding a 1914-D Lincoln in VF condition in a roll!

Congrats. If genuine it's a $300 coin easy.

Yeah that is incredible to find a key date roll searching. This reminds me not too long ago, a member here found a 1914 d cent in a roll. it was a canadian fellow as well.

Its pretty clear to me that someone dumped a collection. Besides the quarter I found a 2004 proof penny. 6 silver quarters 4 64s and a 56 and a 59. And 20 wheaties all different dates ranging from 1919 to 1944.

Fantastic find! Ask the teller if they have any 1933 Double Eagles since you're on a roll!

That is an awesome find holy cow! NICE. Someone on the thread here mentioned they though it might have been MS and reintroduced into circ...that make sense to me. The thing is barely circulated man that is awesome!

I'm with the theory this coin was released into circulation recently.

Hey, while youre at it, can you go to that bank and pick me up a few rolls of say, BU SVDBs, 1914-Ds, and 1913 liberty head nickels? Sounds like these guys have it all!

Coindog,

What did you initially feel or think when you discovered exactly what you had found?

Was it shock, disbelief, or amazement?

Or did you think it was some sort of joke?

I always tell my boy scouts to never give up when searching for silver in rolls.

I tell them that just like when playing golf the first nine holes(or rolls) may stink but the law of averages dictate that normally the back nine should be much better.

It appears that you kept your head down on this shot and scored a 'hole-in-one'.
