Is there a way to make the standard Unicode characters display in forum posts? Collectors of ancient coins would find it very useful to be able to include Greek characters in the forum posts. Any ideas on how to pull this off are appreciated!

Cut and past works for some characters, not for others. We cannot seem to encode gamma and delta correctly. Here is my try: cut and paste: " "
unicode:
&Gamma Gamma; , &Delta Delta;
--working?

Strange how they appear in the preview but not in the post itself...

When I try to encode the Greek letters with the unicode equivalent, the "&" symbol keeps getting removed, probably because of a "swearing" filter

I can encode ASCII™ here by holding down the Alt key and typing the 4-digit (leading zero if necessary) numerical code. Don't know if it's a browser behavior or forum code.

From here:

http://www.ascii-code.com/

Substitute holding the Alt key and a leading zero for the "number" and "ampersand" characters. Heh - the forum automatically parses them, and I can't post them together.
Rest in Peace

From another thread, here's the way (remove the space after the &):

& Gamma; = Γ
& gamma; = γ
& Delta; = Δ
& delta; = δ

Why are there not keyboards out there with the extra letters/symbols on them , Like the scientific keypads on calculators

Hmmm. #169

Cool.

£ ¢ ¥

Works without the Alt key, with "&" plus "word name of symbol." Doesn't work except in preview with "&" plus "#" plus "number;" the forum software removes the number symbol when you post.

And I don't see anything in the filters that would do that.

They do, just buy a programmable keyboard and set it up however you like.
