I decided to delve into typically unloved 10c territory today - no guesses what brought that on ;) While I did not end up finding any 2011's, I did find a 1985, a 1999 with a second inner reverse "rim", a 2003 that I'll need to do some closer examination of during daylight hours, and two Kiwiland "mini money" coins - a 20c and 50c?! Also decided to get $50 of 50 cents as well just for fun, and one bag delivered 3 states (WA, VIC, QLD) as well as a 1993! Not much other than that though in the rest, other than a 2012 and a 1994 wide date. Struck through 2003, or something else? Anyone got anything to offer on the following reverse strike on a 1999?

Ok been at this 6 months now and taking it to a new level as its a obsession to me , I have many errors and lies of coins so setting up a office to house and turn this hobby into a lifetime collection I will have photos once all are sorted
Question: 2011-2012 mintage on coins anyone got stats?
Today only could round up $120 of mixed
50$ of $2 2x $1 1x 50c 1x 20c. 20c bag in progress
2x 20o4 $2 off centred more then average ( 1double rim) $1 heaps of 2010-11 and alot of auncirc 2002 year of outback 1x a uncirc 1984 ( got about 15 now) 1 of the 2010 is a spew roo I think? If not wondering if this is a new one and hoping to name it a camel backed roo lol
50c (All ef-a uncir) 2x 82 games 1 x 77 julblie 1 x 2012 83 and more years And 1 x 2001 normal fed but the Australian and year is very thick and bold ? The A s are filled inand other letter look doubled,
Last night had 250$ of mixed found a few $2 with almost no writing and 3 double rims and a 88 with no hh as coin material looks fussed and mixed metals?
Any ideas? I will get photos ASAP ( currently working on a set of $2, with double rims , )
At the end of the day I love noodling and would do it as a job if I could, but the way I am going my hobbie is alot safer then our super funds and a great way to save :)
I'm looking into a 1930 penny with my super as I did ok and made money in the wall st crash ( go Aussie stocks and bonds) But the return on any historic coin makes more per year then and house or paper stock! Smsf people before its too late! $2500 fees first year ( unless super broker offers a free on like c bus) But if used wise you ll make more in the long run. Or be expected to be hit with a bill 30 years from now saying your retirement fund is in the negative and you have to work until 124 to pay back what's owed! Judge for yourself a as only a " uneducated opinion" but even the highly "educated" people woke in 2008 to see 25 years of saving gone, where? I'd be guessing the 3rd richest nation "IMF"
Good luck noodling people That's my rant for the month Peace

Hi FNQ Last week I moved all my error coins from 2x2's to saflips and in doing so I very closely looked at each one. Some of the decimal Struck Through Grease that I had put aside turned out to be rim machine damage. I would look very closely for parallely lines in a circular motion. IMO yours looks alright though.

Hi Enworb Quote: I would look very closely for parallely lines in a circular motion. Is this what you are meaning? Thoughts on what happened here greatly appreciated!

I would look very closely for parallely lines in a circular motion @enworb I'd been looking for this possibility and you now know why I wanted to examine this coin closely during daylight hours The added complexity is that many of the 2003 10c pieces seem to be weakly struck. The weakness (or potential strike through) is primarily focussed on the "E", however on the reverse, the rightmost tail-feather also exhibits a similar "vagueness". I'm obviously still somewhat undecided on this - maybe some more photos would assist...

I know someone with a 2003 10c that seems to have a 2003 special 20c shape pressed on its face I might offer him a few bucks for it! Heard of this happening?

Sean With anything like that, check if the design is pressed in the correct direction.ie. are the letters raised (like a normal coin), or pressed into the design (from another coin transferring the design rather than from a die).

Thank you nancy, Once I get coins my coin hoard sorted ,ill have to send you a little token of thanks. I'm onto most things here, but time and experience gives little tips like that. I stopped for 20 years and now stockpiling on a eccentric level, so any tips to save time are greatly taken in. I might offer him a sheet of penny's ( more so to make unload a little) I still liked the coin, and want it what do smash jobs go for on average? And know of a good bulk supplie outlet? 2x2 holders , folders, draws? :) As I said I have a whole room have set up like a office and want to have a good system to noodle on mass scale efficiently and fast. But it's all numbers in this hobby and want to make my working dollars convert to collecting dollar work for me the best way mathematically, like I said day 1 when I told you about the PE94 $20, this will become a obsession if I'm not careful, and it has :) Not in it for greed , it's the cheapest hobby that does nt lose you money( can be quite opposite in most cases)
Thank you again nancy for your ongoing advise, I'm going to use excel to make some data bases( for collection coding and for data on mintages/raritys/errors ect) Unless it can be purchased online somewhere?
Cheers again :)

Recaptured today. Looks like it has been roaming free a little while. B stamp. Say, isn't that Nancy territory? She wouldn't but, maybe she should reprimand her fellow "banana benders". Surely a "Mexican" would not have released it! Jeff
