Ralph, I am sure all incomes and corresponding tastes are represented here. My budget on a retirement income only allows me to buy 19th Century high grade circulated coins. Except for Morgans, my only BU coins are 20th or 21st Century. I am better at grading circulated coins than MS, so I comment on those more frequently, but I am gradually learning how to look at the uncirculated coins as well. As for being "ashamed" well that is just erroneous. Keep posting your circulated coins and I will do so also.

No deep pocket here either, But I think the main reason that you see that higher graded stuff there is because the price difference in a MS63-MS65. I also think most of use can tell the difference between a G to VF coin. So most of use don't post theose.

Rich no way. Thats why when I find a Australian 20 cent wavy, and it only cost me 20 cent I get very excited. the same for 50 cent coins with incluse flag. As they are worth around $300 and $60 AD it shows that you dont have to be rich to get a good collection going. Power to us poor people. you never know one day we may rule the world. HAHAHAHA

Hi Ralph I guess I'm the only rich man here,, I have a wife that Loves me enough to put up with me, four dogs that could care less if I collect coins as long as the morning and evening meal get served,, and a job where Iam substantially under paid . But I have to save to buy coins !!! But you know,, I have seen your coins, and many of them even though they are circulated are either key or semi key coins. My collection consists of largely common date coins sure some of them are MS some are even High MS,, My proof Lincoln Cent collection for a raw set is absolutely immaculate,, Not bad for 36 years of collecting !! I'm Rich too its the first four letters of my name. I support my hobby by buying and selling and for the last year or two it has become almost self financing. The highest profit is in high grade and key dates so most of the coins I post in the grading section are high grades just to confirm my own assigned grade. 90% will be sold to feed my 2 Cent and Proof Jefferson addictions. I am to the point where I only have the really high dollar coins left to buy so purchasing for my collection is few and far between.

Yes Ralph, I am rich. I have a wondeful family that loves me. I have a wife that is my perfect mate in every way. I have 2 wonderful daughters that are healthy and happy. I had a dad who loved me enough to pass on the collections that we started when I was only a kid, and I have added to as the years go by. My most prized collection is the old whitman penny folder full of worn out teen, twentys and thirtys cents that me, my dad, and mom built by going to the bank, getting 5 dollars worth of cent rolls, and coming home at night and sitting around on the floor going through them together. Since my dad died, I have not added a single coin. Not even an 1804 dollar could buy that set from me. I have friends here, all of whom I have never met, but would trust (and have) with my coins. You do not find those kind of folks to much nowadays. Along the way, I have managed to accumulate some nicer coins, but that has nothing to do with being rich. Keep posting your coins...... MM

Nope...not rich here either. However, like most people, I will tend to post my better coins (and coin pictures) up on the web for everyone to see. I've also culled out most of the problem coins out of my collection so that I can upgrade and buy better stuff.

Ralph, I also have to agree with djluster. We have all stared holes thru g-4 and vg-8 Lincoln cents for years. Those coins still occupy a lot of our time but I would much rather see something I have not had in hand for a while. Sharing things that mayhaps others have not seen recently is part of it, too. Jim

I'm hardly rich... I don't even have an income at the moment quote: I myself just do not like circulated coins, I think they are ugly (except for a few of them like the bust halves).
These words make me cry. I think circulated coins are among the most beautiful examples of past times. To me, they encompass the history of different time periods, the various transactions in which they were used, and the people from all walks of life that used them.
