Yes. What a shame. Steel wool or a harsh brush by the look of all the fine scratches.

This looks poorly cleaned of one of those base metal "replica" coins. I don't like the color of it.

It seems to me that one of the side effects of ebay is that more coins are being cleaned (and ruined). Although it is obvious in this case, it is sometimes hard to tell from a single photo.
