I go to CIBC and Scotiabank and want to order some but I am not sure if they charge for it. I have debit cards for both. Do most banks charge?

I bet banks in Canada are like banks in the US: some banks do charge, some banks don't charge, and some banks won't order coins for an individual

my rbc doesn't, but it probably depend how much you want to order. If just for 1 box, just go in and tell them you collect coins and would like to have(that amount)in (pennies , quarters or whatever.)

I've dealt with a few banks and have never been asked for payment on coin orders. Hope it stays that way.

I've seen people talk about getting "boxes" of coins from banks. How many rolls are there per box? Just curious as to how many coins we're talking about.

they are not allowed to charge extra for the coins as is is currency.
BUT I am convinced they will sometime in the future find a way to levy a service charge of some kind, unless you are a customer they really do not want to tick off....

As long as you have an account with a bank, you shouldn't be worrying too much about being charged.

Try CIBC.

However, I don't know if RBC charges or not but they do care about an account and ask you for personal information sometimes.

I believe that BMO doesn't charge.

Don't do TD unless you have an account with them. There's a good reason for that.

50 cent pieces are not avaliable in Canadian banks. Unless you're lucky, someone come into the bank and return some.

I manage a lube shop and regularly go to the bank to get rolled coins. I don't have an account with that particular bank and have never paid any service fees.

Since I've started collecting again recently, I've never been charged a fee and have used 5 different banks.....including 3 TD's, 1 BMO, and 1 Scotia.
