Is it worth keeping the Canadian pennies I find in rolls with American Cents.

I'd keep them.

If anything it's that many fewer than you would find if you re-released them.

I keep the ones dated before 1960 unless they are in bad shape. I also keep errors and varieties.

Yes if you hoard metals at all. Canadian pennies from 1981 and earlier have mostly copper, and have an approximate intrinsic value of 2.5 cents per penny. 1982-1996 are lighter but still mostly copper and have about 2 cents intrinsic value per penny.

Here is more specific info:

1920-1941 95.5% copper 3.24 grams
1942-1979 98% copper 3.24 grams
1980-1981 98% copper 2.80 grams
1982-1996 98% copper 2.50 grams

Errors & varieties here, too . My g- son has 7 holes to go on album #1 & #2.
He needs 4 for his '65-'12 nickels. All from boxes.

If the hunt is not the fun part for you... some of your finds may well be worth more than a penny or two. Go here to check them out:

Get rid of useless ones if you have too much.
