A family member wanted me to take a look at a coin for them. It's a Mexican 8 Reales and I'm completely out of my league. I know that counterfeit coins can be a issue quite often, hopefully from pics you can get a good idea.
Hard to tell from the pics. Strike seems ok. I'm a little concerned that the edge looks irregular or banged up and the faces look pretty clean. Search the forum for swamper bob comments for more info than I can provide.
I don't like the way those denticles look like, especially from Mexico (this is not Lima ...) Moreover, letters look 'fat' and rounded, often a bad sign. As told earlier, a picture of the coin's rim would help a lot ! (but those are hard to shoot ...)
