The reason is because I just like to look at the toned coins. I really like rainbow and thought I should try to put it on a coin. The coins I'm toning are worth just silver value.

I've toned several 1964 U.S. quarters... just bullion value pocket change... from gun metal greys to a tye dye rainbow (including orange). I used sulphur and alcohol... and the information from here VVV
