I have also seen a 2012 20 cent in Perth. Did not think it was an event to get my interest.

Hi, I nabbed my first 2012 coin today (in north Qld). The bonus is that it has a Cud on the rump. Now I have to get a good one (and a few more 2012 coins to go with it).

at the end of the year you normally get a few trickling through.
There are noticeably no MOR $1 or $2 coins found yet though.
BTW me old Mate you left a coin behind (20 cent bubble) I will post it to your home address

Slightly OT but last week I received in change on at least 3 occasions nice aUNC dollar coins and a few 5 cent coins from different shops and they were all from the 80s and 90s. Did somebody decide to clear out the back of a bank vault?

Finally found a 2012 20 cents. I find the finish surface to be really matte instead of the strong mirror-like surface that was done for the past few years.

The 2012 $2 Poppy has been around for quite some while now. I have two, probably won't bother keeping any more than that.

There seem to be quite a few $2 Poppies floating around in Sydney.

My daughter's boyfriend got given 5 of them in one lot of change but unfortunately then proceeded to spend them!

I reckon people have held onto them. There was lots here in Adelaide for about a week or two now they are few and far between.

Enworb, they must have migrated north east to escape the heat you're having. Got my first one on Saturday (Mid-North-Coast NSW), then 2 more yesterday in change. Yay!

Ive only seen two poppy's so far. One in very nice condition and one so dirty it already looked 20 years old so that was spent. Only 2012 coin I havent found so far is $1 kangaroo. Did they make any? And also no coloured poppy's yet...besides the ones I've seen at Australia post.

trikdoutcobalt I am not surprised you haven't found a coloured poppy in circulation they have only been around for a few months and cost $10 per coin. I wouldn't think anyone would release them into circulation but I am probably wrong. I have found 17 standard Poppy coins in circulation though.

From today's noodle ($500 in $1 coins) I found 28 x 2011 MOR's, and no 2012 dollar coins....

I've seen lots of 2012 coins, all denominations. Eastern Melbourne suburbs. I saved a lot of Poppies, then got a bit over it. There seems to be an abundance of 2012 10 cent pieces in Melbourne.
It's also time for me to go through the money boxes at home: I put the $2 in one container, the $1's in another & all the silver in a final container. I need a counting machine.
Also, there was a post about 2011 10c & $1, I found one of each of these in the till today & that was just standard float.

I've come across some 1970's 50 cents lately...as for why? No idea. Could just be someone that had all these coins put aside & then thought f...it/effort & released them back into the pond? I wish I could answer that. I'll have to take a photo of the 1971 50 cent I got at the shop today in the till, I put it aside, but left it at the shop.
