Hi, I came across a 1917 Canadian 5 cent piece in a mix of world coins and wondered about it. I've never seen one before and I don't have my coin book with me in New Zealand - what's the story on it?
If I had to guess, I'd say that it looks very high VF or maybe XF condition.

Wade pretty much said all there is to say. No major varieties for that year. They're often called fish scales.
