A lucky find, other than a few obverse scuffs, looks around VF, worth around $6000 upwards!

Your going to cry . I bought this one two years ago off a dealer in Adelaide that knows of the variety, but failed to check this one that I found in a bag of 1931 pennies he had under counter . I payed four hundred cents for it. I also have another in better graded, ,i bought 3 years ago in an album of 70 varieties from rare to extremely rare. The chap I bought it off was well informed and knew its potential but was hard up for jonny cash, I offered him $200 for album and he handed it over, so on average it cost $2.85

It looks like you'll be giving KurtS a run for his money by getting bargains like that. He seems to be a magnet for Aussie coin bargains, so to both of you, Keep it up! We all love to read about friends scoring nice coins at good prices.

I"ve desided to try my luck with my 1931 indian drop 1 on ebay soon. I had an auction dealer look at it an he has graded this coin as VF. He had never handle one before so wasn't really keen to auction. Strange.

Sorry guys, I've had second thoughts on putting my penny on ebay after a friend talked me out of it for security reasons. I wouldn't want to lose this in a deal gone bad. I've been busy of late working & if I sell it I will do it privately or at an auction in Adelaide. Has there been any more sightings of other 1931 indian drop 1's around ?
