Doesn't make sense. I guess someone thinks it is a high grade coin or something special?
It definitely isn't worth that price.

The bad thing is the seller has MANY of them going over $2 Dollars....do you think he is boosting his rating? I thought maybe cause he had some negatives recently...but he has over 10,000 sells

Nothing crazy going on here. For many people, paying a few bucks for a common coin is preferable to spending time looking through their change, hoping to find one.

Consider the time and cost to package and ship that item to you. then consider the merchant fees. it's a fair deal when you factor in the costs. sure, you can go to the bank and get your own- but this is a convenience buy with packaging... so I give this seller a pass.

Just a person being too lazy to look for one on their own. It's easier to send someone $3 for a penny. We used to call the hobby "collecting" coins and the thrill of discovery would add to the personal value of each coin.
...but, in reality, I do admit, I wouldn't get too warm and fuzzy about finding a shiny recent common date penny in my change....cool,yes, but not REAL cool.

I think it is totally crazy and very lazy to pay $3+ for a common cent. You can get a roll (50 coins) for $4.95 and that includes free shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-P-LINC...t_3653wt_905Why buy one for $3 when you can get 50 for $4.95? And I didn't even shop around to find a better deal. I just saw another for a little less, so it pays to spend a few extra minutes to find a better deal. Edited by wquinn
