A. Cajun, Steve and Moe are sitting around a bonfire and arguing who of them is the smartest. Jbuck happened to pass by and heard the conversation. He said, in my bag I have white and black hats, I'm going to put one on each of you so that you can see only your opponents' hats. I promise that at least one hat will be white. Whoever first figures out what color hat (s)he wears would be the smartest.

He put white hats on all three and left.

After staring at each others' heads for a minute Cajunlady exclaimed, my hat is white! How did she figure it out?

B. A peasant is returning home from the market. He has a sack of cabbage, a goat, and a wolf. He comes to the river he needs to cross, but to his disposal there is only a little dingy on which he can ferry only one item at a time.

How can the guy get everything to the other side of the river if he can't leave the cabbage alone with the goat, or the goat alone with the wolf?

C. (A variation of above) A troop of soldiers came to the river, and two little boys were fishing on a dingy. The vessel is so small that it can carry only two boys or only one adult.

How can the troop get to the other side of the river?

D. Three tortoises are crawling through the desert in the same direction. The first tortoise says, behind me there are two tortoises. The second says, There's a tortoise in front of me, and there's a tortoise behind me. The third one says, in front of me there are two tortoises, and behind me there's a tortoise.

How can this happen?

E. What makes more noise than a monkey?

F. What looks like a half of an apple?

I've heard of this one before. He takes the goat first, leaves it there. Then he takes the cabbage, leaves it but takes the goat with him back to the first place. He leaves the goat and takes the wolf and leaves it with the cabbage on the other side. He goes back to the first place to get the goat back and go to the other side.

She took her own hat off and looked to see it was white.

I am still trying to figure this one out, without hurting myself too much. All I know right now is me, Steve and Moe were having a good ol' time until JBuck came around with them stupid hats. grrrrr

Give me some time to think about this one.
