Quote: the rope was tied to the horse, but the other end was loose and not tied to anything. The horse was free to walk to the hay.
Fredds answer is more logical...or is at least as logical...

Quote: Dee Septor, the famous magician, claimed to be able to throw a ping-pong ball so that it would go a short distance, come to a complete stop, and then reverse itself. He also added that he would not bounce the ball off any object, or tie anything to it. How could he perform this trick? backspin, easy to do with a hula hoop. One time, we were playing foosball on two tables. I was on the north table, my goal was the north goal. I hit the ball so hard that when it went in the goal, it bounced off the back wall, arced over to the south table, and had so much backspin that it skidded into the north goal on the south table from midcourt. Hole in half?

RECAP Unanswered correct riddles:
Q: What is one thing that all wise men, regardless of their religion or politics, agreed is between heaven and earth?
Q: Which two days are the strongest?
Whoever makes it, tells it not. Whoever takes it, knows it not. Whoever knows it, wants it not.
What am I?
An Arab sheikh tells his two sons to race their camels to a distant city to see who will inherit his fortune. The one whose camel is slower will win. Reluctantly, the brothers started out on this unconventional "race". After wandering aimlessly for days, they came across a wise man and asked him for advice. After hearing the advice of the wise man, the brothers jump on the camels and race as fast as they can to the city. What advice did the wise man offer?

Quote: But you are not correct on the riddle about the horse with the 15' of rope. Are you saying a horse 15' west of a tie down could NOT reach a bale of hay 25' east of him and 10' east of the tie down? I didn't get the answer in the book, but if you think about it, my answer is not only correct, but also covers the rope being tethered, which makes sense (why tie a 15' rope on a horse if you don't anchor it?)
