The left kaughypot is 20 high, with an average diameter of 8.
20 * π * 4 * 4 = 320 π

The right kaughypot is 16 high, with an average diameter of 9.
16 * π * 4.5 * 4.5 = 324 π

They might be calling it
The right kaughypot is 16 high, with an average diameter of 10.
16 * π * 5 * 5 = 400 π

This would make the right one 25% bigger.

As I was going to Saint Yves, I met a man with seven wives.
Every wife had seven sacks
Every sack had seven cats
Every cat had seven kittens
Kittens, cats, sacks, wives,
How many were going to Saint Yves?

None, they were coming from St. Ives

What is the easiest way for the mother to figure out which eggs are for Easter, and which are for breakfast?

We did both.

For a month or so b4 Easter, we'd take a needle and poke holes in the top and bottom of an egg, and blow the insides into a bowl for pancakes, scrambled eggs, whatever.

Over time, we'd accumulate a few dozen eggs that were washed out and could be colored, written on, decaled, etc.
  • No wasted food
  • Could hang on trees
  • Keep from year to year

Fuzzy317 nailed it; the only one going to Saint Yves was the person in the first line traveling there!

we will have to see what answer they have
- If the last line means "of kittens, cats, sacks, & wives, how many were going to St Yves?" biggfredd is right, none.
- If the last line is a stand alone question "How many were going to the St Yves?" then its one

I heard this riddle when I was a kid on some TV show; might even have been Sesame Street or something of that sort. I was always told the answer was one. The riddle was sung like a song, and the line "kittens cats sacks wives" sounded like a bridge to bring the song together rather than something to trick the person trying to solve the riddle.

The question is, what percent more coffee will the larger coffee pot hold relative to the smaller?

=> because the spouts of the two pots are at the exact same height, they can only be filled to the exact same level. Therefore, the two pots will hold the exact same amount of coffee (the taller pot will merely have more dead-space above the coffee-line) ...

=> man, dontcha just hate engineers!?

Steve posted the correct answer about the coffee pots...... good job!

Biggfredd got the answer right to the riddle with the unusual paragraph... no "e" in the whole thing.

Captain Frank and some of the boys were exchanging old war stories. Art Bragg offered one about how his grandfather led a battalion against a German division during World War I. Through brilliant maneuvers he defeated them and captured valuable territory. After the battle he was presented with a sword bearing the inscription "To Captain Bragg for Bravery, Daring and Leadership. World War I. From the Men of Battalion 8."
Captain Frank looked at Art and said, "You really don't expect anyone to believe that yarn, do you?"
What's wrong with the story?

In Okmulgee, Oklahoma, you cannot take a picture of a man with a wooden leg. Why not?
