The Old Time Coffee factory has just finished designing two new coffee pots for production. You have been given the blue prints for final inspection. One thing you need to report is performance differences, so marketing can hype the larger and more expensive model.
Below are the blue prints. For simplicity sake, the white regions are the only parts which can hold coffee, the rest is solid silver. For your calculations you may assume the following: the walls of the urns and spigots have zero thickness. The spigots on each are of identical shape and volume. The two urns are circular conic sections. The grid units are one inch squares.

The question is, what percent more coffee will the larger coffee pot hold relative to the smaller?

I dont know about that, Svslav. Is that a joke? I only know the answers to the original question. But, go ahead..............I want to see your answer using the same 3 letters.

BTW, Svslav was correct with his "private message" answer to me on the "unusual paragraph" riddle. CONGRATS! I am going to assume that he wants others to solve it, so he does not want to give the answer away quite yet.

I started with these ten: leg, arm, ear, eye, foot, ... and then thought "hey, wait a minute!..."

In a recent "For Better or For Worse," (a long-running syndicated comic strip by Lynn Johnston) the mother is shown boiling eggs for Easter.

(For those who don't know, painting and hiding eggs is a popular tradition for many people who celebrate Easter. Small children run around Easter morning looking for the decorated eggs. Hard-boiling minimizes the amount of mess likely to ensue when they find the eggs.)

The mother boils half a dozen eggs, marks each of them with a small "X", and puts them back in their carton with the rest. Presumably, the remaining eggs will be used for some other less festive purpose like breakfast.

The punchline of the comic strip shows the smallest child of the family informing the mother that she finished putting X's on the remaining eggs.

Ok, now here's the puzzle: What is the easiest way for the mother to figure out which eggs are for Easter, and which are for breakfast?

Send them to a TPG ... I mean, spin 'em.

You are correct, Svslav..... boiled eggs spin really fast, while a raw egg kind of just wobbles.

You've just purchased your first new home. When you arrive to beginning moving in, you discover that the builder forgot something. Being a self-reliant sort of person, you decide to finish the job yourself. You stroll down to the local hardware store and find exactly what you need at a price you can afford. The hardware store charges perfectly reasonable prices for the items; 7 will cost $1.00, 10 will cost $2.00, and 100 will cost $3.00. As it happens, you need 880, which also costs $3.00.

These items could likely be found at any hardware store, and at your average home.

What did the builder forget?

The actual numbers "8" "8" and "0" for the address on the house.

Side Note: I work as a Circulation Manager for the local newspaper, and occasionally I have to deliver a paper route. I wish more people would put addresses on their houses! It's amazing how many don't.

While this is generally correct, I have encountered non-hard boiled eggs which will spin - but only a slower revolution or two. So the key idea here is that hard boiled ones can be made to spin rapidly (as you said) many times.

As I was going to Saint Yves, I met a man with seven wives.
Every wife had seven sacks
Every sack had seven cats
Every cat had seven kittens
Kittens, cats, sacks, wives,
How many were going to Saint Yves?

PS: Going to work; won't be on for the next 8 hours or so. Will answer then.
Rest in Peace
