How did I forget about this thread. I have been paying for my breakfast with Halves for a few months now. I went back through my receipts and I have spent $90 in Halves at Jack in the Box over the last 2 months. $6.00 * 15 orders. It's fun when a younger person has to ask the Manager if they are "Real" coins. So here is my contribution. $90 in Halves for breakfast $7 SBA for candy at 7-11 $1781 to go |

$5 in Ikes on groceries (lady never batted an eye at them)
$5 in Ikes at the gas station for a lottery ticket (lady never seen them before and was checking them out)
$1 Ike put in the Salvation Army bucket at the grocery store

Update: I cashed in a lottery ticket and asked the lady if she had ever seen an Ike before and she said she had but was surprised that anyone had any...
Well she better get use to it cause I'm going to try and make it a habit of getting them and spending them...

I wish I knew about this project sooner. I spend $15-$20 in halves a week. Lately I've been using dollar coins as well.
Anyways, I spent $5 in halves on gas today.

The guy at Kwik Trip asked where I get all the half dollars. He said he only sees a handful of people come in with them. I was surprised to hear others are paying with them, it's a small town. Maybe stores are giving my half dollars out as change.
