I was just sorting through a bulk auction lot I bought some time ago and hadn't had a chance to fully look through until now and I found 65 odd 1982 Commonwealth Games 50 cent coins in it, all of which are UNC or better (I'm assuming they are ex rolls or taken out of circulation in 1982 as not a single one of them has any wear on signs of circulation at all and only a few have very very light bagging). This is probably one of my best unexpected finds, maybe some others want to show and tell some of their best random/unexpected finds. On another note, I probably only want to keep a couple for my personal collection and I don't think it is worth my time photographing them and trying to sell them one by one or a few at a time on ebay, if anyone is interested in purchasing a few (or all) of these coins shoot me a message and i'll send them your way.

Well, over the past week or so my noodling has been rather unproductive , so I have been looking for nice pre-decimal coins . Found this rather nice 1930 halfpenny over the weekend. According to "The Blue Sheet" http://www.bluesheet.com.au/Austral...V/1930_(MS), this is a rather scarce coin in good condition. According to this reference, the 1930 coin was circulated during the height of the depression, and being low denomination, was widely circulated during this time. Closer view of the coin shows that the 8 pearls are visible. Finally, a question. For checking against counterfeit 1930 pennies, would it be useful to refer to the "1930" numerals of the corresponding halfpenny ?. Squire

I think the 0 in the date of the 1930 penny is more rounded than on the 1/2 penny from what I have seen

I went to the casino last night and got $200 worth of dollars. Never tried that before. Shoved them in my pocket and walked out. Some good results and I have attached pics of the most interesting two. I have heard of a 2005 mule and I guess this is what the person had. Not a mule but a forgivable mistake. The other is a NCLT that I have never seen before

Great minds think alike I was looking at that 62, but didn't bid. A case of unless it is guaranteed to be an upgrade I am not allowed to buy, poop.
I bought an error threepence from quick sales yesterday, my first time using that site, so don't know how it will go, well if its crap I am sure to name the person as dodgy.
I have been spending my time branching out into new territory with the silver traders, silver dealers, pawn brokers and such, they have amazing stuff but they buy and sell big. You ask for a pic of one coin and you get a couple of hundred to choose from! Crazy. But super cool. Unfortunately I don't have hundreds of dollar to drop at a time, but they are nice and understand and I get to pick and choose coins :)
I have recently added a few florins to my collection, yay, there not what you would call collector worthy but I don't mind. As long as they isn't hockey pucks.
