Example of someone using photo shop to edit the first photo -

Not a dead on match to the coins in the side by side photo .

But just showing it can be done to back up bigfredds thought that someone may have edited the original photo ..

For the record, I compared the two users the moment a coincidence like this appeared, days ago. I am reasonably certain it's not possible that they are the same person.

The two photos, however, are similar to several decimal places. Had I been asked as one with reasonable knowledge of the digital photography process, I'd say they were the same coin.

I am *quite* curious about this.

Other than both coins are obvious fakes, they both have very similar, if not identical wear, damage and discoloration. The only difference I see is the rim damage at 12:30 on the darker example.

The answer to the question of value - zero to most collectors.

The lighter looking pics are mine. I submitted them here and other forums to try and find some possible explanations. I have collected coins for years one way or another and this is my first mystery coin. Perhaps that is unusual perhaps not. My guess is someone at another forum re-posted my pic here also wanting to hear more possibilities not to start a conspiracy theory discussion!

So far I have only got 2 or 3 opinions !?

The only two possibilities are a genuine Morgan with an altered date or a fantasy fake. There is zero chance it is a genuine 1870 since George Morgan did not even emigrate to the US until 1876. How much does it weigh?

It's the same coin. Here are both photos: OP photo on top resized; and second coin with color saturation reduced and brightness increased.

Let's see a photo of the reverse. I'd like to see what the reverse variety was of the "donor".
