Just as an experiment I tried and dipped a couple copper nickel clad coins for about 2 seconds in Ez-est....it didn't seem to impair mint luster or make the copper rim look weird, it just cleaned off the buildup from being in circulation. Is this sort of cleaning considered a no no? Just seemed to do a good job but maybe I am wrong. What do you all think?

If done properly, like you did, I would consider that conservation....assuming they were MS coins to start. The TPG's and NCS use acid-thiourea dips like EZ-est on coins all the time. IMO, it's a perfectly acceptable conservation technique in the right hands.
