I have an 11,000 coin database amassed over the last 3 1/2 years. It's all on a snipe program called auction defender. You can try it for free and it only costs $10 yearly, if you want the updates. Otherwise it's a one time fee of $15, I think. I definitely recommend the program for anyone who bids a lot on ebay auctions. You put in the price you want and it automatically bids for you. My bid goes in five seconds before the auction concludes. It has saved me a ton of money over the years. I don't get in any bid wars like I once did. No time to second guess oneself in five seconds. ;)

Wow thanks for the tip traevin. I'm trying to cut back on ebay but it never hurts to have some added insurance.

Interestingly enough I was actually debating trying to go for one of these coins recently. Nice design but the price just isn't right for me right now.

@Koin Hunter, I didn't get to bid on the one you showed me. The final bid was at $146 + $15.95S&H. That's way over my budget anyways. Wow...

I'm going to buy something like this one instead. Very similar in design but much less expensive :(

tocoins, I'm not sure what your budget is but one of the ones I was watching ended at 118$. Still high but about 30$ less than the others. If you're patient enough I'm sure you can get a decent price on one.

Thank you @ztt2! That's $30 less. Based on what traevin has provided, I'm expecting something around the $130 range. This last one is over $160. I guess I'll just have to be very patient. I guess one reason this coin didn't sell well at the time was because of the general economy outlook at the time. If they were to come out in 2012, they would have sold out like the ladybug.

No problem! I know it's kinda hard to be patient when there's not that many coins, but eventually you'll get it. I'm not too sure it would sell out though. It's one of those designs that I think you either love or hate.

It might be my own observation, but did a lot of coins from RCM sell out in the past as quickly as in recent? The bumblebee coin sold out in a day or two, I think. What are some examples like this in the past? Are those ones holding up well in value?

I think you can do better. The one I bid on today went for $103. I dropped out at $88.

@traevin, I guess I will need to polish my search skills first. This one didn't even show up in my search. *palm face*

It probably didn't show up for you because unfortunately the seller only ships to the USA. At least that's what the listing says.

No wonder it went for less...the seller cut the rest of the world out from bidding on it...one would think that the seller's good neighbours from the north might had wanted to bid on this Canadian coin

No US seller should exclude Canada. To me, that's a sacrilege. A lot of times, I've seen listings, especially from Australia, that didn't include US shipping. But every time I asked, they had absolutely no problem shipping it, after finding out exactly where I lived. Now the shipping charges on the other hand, they weren't always very reasonable.

You wouldn't believe how many US sellers refuse to ship Canadian coins to Canada, even when I almost beg the seller. For really good deals I use a family members account in the US and get it sent to them.

Rockdaddy22,

That's odd. It's not an insurance issue, is it? I can get insurance from the USPS when I ship within the country with no problem, of course. I've shipped insured packages to the UK recently. I'm pretty sure I've shipped to Canada with insurance; just not in the last few year. I don't get it? Kind of obnoxious.
