Thanks! Yeah this 1909 is beautiful. I love toning too. My favorite LWC of mine is my 1940-S a photo wouldn't even do it justice. It's almost violet with green shimmer and the reverse is almost eggplant color.

Quote: Swapped out my existing 1909 for this upgrade today. Also filled in 1912-S with a real handsome Abe, but this 1909 is just too beautiful to not post! Very nice! Quote: And heres the 1912-S, not a great photo, he looks much sharper in person. I like chocolate.

Looks like a lot of I want perfect Lincoln Cent sets here. Just got to be running out of those in this world. Time to start making all new ones from 09 to present. Now wouldn't that be fun?

Nice 12-S! It's good to see that your dealer is a great source for Lincolns! You're putting together a MUCH nicer collection than you could rolling the dice on places like ebay.

Added an upgraded set of steel cents today! Is it just me or, every time you look at a steel cent, you get the feeling of something so much more valuable? I love them! Heading to a local coin show tomorrow... I'm wishing and hoping I find a 1909-S or a 1909-S VDB that calls my name!

Very nice collection. Lincolns, without a doubt, are THE most collected series, but is very hard to put together a true problem free, uncleaned set in any grade. Congrats!
My 09 S arrived yesterday. :)

Your collection and upgrading is coming along nicely. Thanks for posting the pics of your new upgrades. I purchased a couple sets of BU 1943 Steel cents last year. Love the shiny bright silver Lincolns!

Thanks AC and Matchbox! I replaced about 10 common 40s and 50s today with MS coins... For me, I love collecting Lincoln, I think that it is first and foremost iconic... second, I love the look on peoples faces, when they realize just how long the Lincoln Cent has been in circulation and to flip through literally hundreds of pennies without repeating is just astonishing. But above all, what I love most, is the paradox, of finding value in what many see as not having value. Only fellow Penny/Coin collectors can truly appreciate the subtle characteristics, colors, and dynamic from coin to coin... The most minute difference can be seen. my 1940-S, while a common "cheap" date, is the absolute favorite of mine across the board.

Congrats on the steel cents. It's surprizing how inexpensive they are.
