51st coin:

1864 2 cent PCGS AU58

My first ever 2 center and finally adding some copper vs silver and gold coins :D :D

This one is from a good friend who gives me really good prices. This coin has a nice dark look and is from the civil war era so that adds something historical to it. I guess this box of 60 is almost turning into a type set somewhat. Overall I'm happy with the look of this piece, the price I paid, and to own something this old.

52nd coin

1850 1 (large) cent PCGS XF40

I've begun to look at 1/2 cents and old 1 cent coins, these coins are pretty neat and they can cost a lot too!!
I really like the dark/brown look that many I have looked at. The only thing I want to avoid is green stuff on them which eventually will ruin a coin, I think they call it veridgris and I've seen a lot of them on coins slabbed even! I got this from my friend who also sold me the 1864 2 cent piece and he verified no green stuff on it. I'm getting an itch to try and get more old large cents as they aren't too common.

I was thinking along similar lines of this thread being a "type" set. I am kicking around the idea of having a similar theme with my slabbed 7070, probably with the groupings (cents, other denominations, nickels, dimes, etc...) instead of individual coins.

You have a really nice agglomeration of coins!

Thanks all for the comments!

For coin #48 which is the 1854O Seated Half PCGS VF35, I might have to replace it with something as it was shipped on Oct 24 and tracking shows it hasn't moved anywhere.....possibly lost or something! Seller is going to check on it!

I'm giving up hope that coin #48 on page 8 will come. Will work with the seller on refund, etc. So the following coin will replace coin #48

Coin #48 replacement

1839 Reeded Edge PCGS XF45

This coin has nice original look to it and not cleaned, dipped, etc. This is the way I like my coins. I already own a 1939 but its in XF40 and its a great coin but I couldn't turn this one down when it was CHEAPER than my XF40 that I got from a dealer! I really like this series and think I will keep this and the other one!

Big changes to this set in the last week or so. Decided to let go of some coins that I feel aren't very important. In fact, I will have a "A" Box and a "B" box, certain coins that don't have the "wow" factor to me or significance will go to the "B" box. Case in point, the 1876cc, 77cc, and 78 cc Seated quarters. They are low grade (F-VF) but still neat and of course cc coins are great so they will go to the "B" box.

Will revamp everything and give an update on whats happening!
