Here is something I bought a couple days ago. Nothing Special. I will probably get rid of it soon, for an upgrade. Sorry about the pictures. I couldn't get good lighting without a lot of glare on the flip.

Glenn, back on Page three of this thread, you said you were considering sending the 1886 quarter, that was graded AU-58 by ICCS back to get it re-graded. Did you ever send it back in? Quote: Not a recent purchase, however, about a month ago I Purchased this piece from Lighthouse Numismatics (owner:Greg Jones) 1886, quarter 6/3 Obverse #5; Long Bough Ends, I.C.C.S., AU58. I'm considering re-submitting it to I.C.C.S., I strongly feel it's an MS-62/63.

As a matter of fact I did, and again, it came back an AU-58 with the same variety attached to the comments. OHHHH well, I guess I'll have to be happy with that! Glenn

I didn't get a great deal, but I hadn't bought a large cent in a while and I had to "scratch the itch." Side note: I found a couple Ancients on ebay yesterday, so you might be seeing a new thread in the ancients section about my first purchase.

Canadian-Banknotes => it is sometimes a bit shaky to buy ancient coins from e-bay (I highly recommend that you try to find a decent coin from a reputable dealer who specializes in ancients ... see "vcoins" for a list of dealers and a sea of awesome ancient coins) ... Plus, I would show a photo and give a brief description of the coin(s) that you're interested in buying so the folks on the CCF can give you a critique "before" you buy yourself a fake and/or before you spend more cash than the coin is actually worth ... The other dudes on the CCF that collect ancients are very helpful and knowledgeable and they seem to have very good ethics, so nobody will try to steal the coin out from under you ... I'm just sayin' => better safe than sorry when buying ancients

Just received this one in the mail. waited for over 4 weeks from "just" 100 miles away across the border. I really would appreciate if you guys would grade it and price it. The grade it has assigned, at least I believe, is way off(low) and no variety is indicated either. should be at least a 7/7 ?, but am not sure. there are numerous die breaks and something is on the bottom of the A in Gratia. there is also frequent doubling of letters.

I "love" the toning!! I kinda suck at the ol' rating game => I always have a hard time determining if something is an AU50 or an MS65 (they all seem to look the same to me) ... plus, it is sometimes difficult to tell if there is a nick/scratch on the coin, or if it's on the slab holding the coin? However, if they rated this coin below an AU50 then I would be surprised ... Ummm, are you going to tell us the answer? (what is its current rating?)
