That doesn't sound good.

Hopefully they made a clerical error and the website is wrong.

The-Ultimate-Grading-Challenge...-For-A-Chance-To-Win!

Ok so the results are in! Even though, I don't have the slabs physically in person yet.

Here is the scoreboard. No one matched all 6, but we have a high score of having matched 2 by 6 contestants. We are going to have to have a tie breaker I think! I will come up with something good by the time I have the slabs in hand.

On a side note, I am kind of disappointed with the findings of ANACS.

I don't believe the 1909 to be anywhere near a "60 details", nor to be recolored.

The 1999 Wide AM, I feel graded too high (I am not complaining LOL)

The 1881-S Morgan I believe to be slightly undergraded, I believe it to be a certain 63, possible 64!

Most of all its the 1909 that disappoints me.

That's weird. The 1909 looked original to me. I thought it looked great, in fact! And what were the "details" about the WAM?

Don't worry that it says "60 details" that just means "MS condition with a problem"; they don't assign a specific numeric grade with a details coin. If it was AU it might say "50 details" which just means AU details, they won't really specify 50, 53, 55 or 58.

Captain ya know... I say this with my intention surely not to sound cocky. However that 1909 is not only original but a REAL fine specimen with the exception of the carbon spot, it's BEAUTIFUL! Let's argue that it has been "recolored", I certainly believe its more than a MS60 ! Do they weigh a "recoloring" that heavily? I am all for a tough grading, (as I was shocked how the 99 hit a 60) and I'm all for collecting the coin not the slab.. But credit should be given where credit is due!

As far as knowing the "details" this has made me have an epiphany. All us collectors should get together and boycott such simplicity. I mean when someone dies and answers are needed the medical examiner who is a professional completes a full autopsy with a detailed account. I say, if you're going to judge or make a remark I want documentation, and a reason for your opinion in writing. .
