Hello all, picked these up today and wondering if pics #1 and #2 could be a circulated matte proof and pics #3 and 4 could be a circulated satin proof. I check Heritage and the first one looks very similar to the one on there. The second one I can not seem to match but from online research it says satin proofs have a yellow toning to them. I would like to know if there is a site that may show specific die markers for the proofs of 1913 Buffalo nickels. Thank you for help. Edward M.

The rim on the second pair looks to be a possible proof and the strike is super. I lean toward yes on that being a proof. The first one does not appear to be proof to me at all. Why the two different backgrounds and photo shots? Are these the images from the seller?

Well that second one is a dandy! I am not sure about it being proof, so you'll have to see what others say. I like how LIBERTY looks on it too.

#1: No, the rims are not squared.
#2: too weak on the rims on the reverse, although the obverse rims look convincing.

Picture #1 obverse, is that doubling on the nose & forehead?

Here are close ups of the forehead, nose and mouth. I think MD on the upper part of the face, but just not sure about the mouth.

I have a 1913 bought many years ago similar to yours which was labeled "double profile" but I suppose it is some sort of Machine Doubling. Here's mine. I found a image of a proof 1913 TY 2 nickel. I am taking the liberty of setting your images next to them. Perhaps this will be helpful studying the die differences or similarities. No matter what, I sure do like that second one. However, I am now leaning toward yours being a business strike. Here is a Proof TY 2 and your obverse Here is a Proof TY 2 and your reverse
