buy RCM coins == lost money

ok?

I know this post is a troll but I wonder what the mint did to you to be such a negative person. I've made lots of money from mint products. Maybe you are doing this wrong, remember the key to success it to buy low and sell high.

^^ As far as I can tell, s/he got very upset about being shutout of the Bumble Bee, and is now on a vendetta.

@Toronto1:
No.

@Hobbes:
...never though of that.... I suppose there are medals and tokens and private mint coins that are Canadian NCLT but not RCM-made...
In fact, I have some now that I think about it. Silver coins from the Lasqueti Mint. Definitely Canadian, and definitely not RCM. Thought they were meant for circulation on the island (and have been reported to be used as such), they are mostly NCLT. Especially the proof coins.

Here's an example, one of my treasures:

^^ I can understand the frustration. But the best way to voice your opinion in difficult situations like this is to clearly articulate the problem statement so that everyone can understand the issue. so...

Toronto1 == erase

I'm curious as to how many of Toronto1's 115 posts read that exact same thing? I seem to remember seeing "buy RCM coins == lost money ok?" quite a bit lately.

The Spirit of Haida Gwaii is one of the best looking coins I've ever seen. 5kg and already sold out!

Are these coins worth buying? I really like the design and I'm in it for an investment. If I buy this, it comes out of my silver money.

In my opinion, yes they are worth buying as a short term investment. They are nearing sell out after just two days of general release. Demand should allow them to sell at a premium at least for the next month and maybe longer. But that is just an opinion. Maybe follow what the other resellers on here are doing....I've never actually parted with a collector coin.

Current BIN prices on the two loons on that auction site are $125-150.

I might just hold off on this coin, if I ever want it my dealer should have one.

@poboxw: Actually my question was meant to be rhetorical as in "why read/post in a board meant for RCM products when you don't care for RCM products. But you brought up an interesting alternative Canadian NCLT mint.

Lasqueti seems to have some interesting coins, but for a mint seemingly proposing a non-fiat based currency, they sure charge a hefty premium over silver spot price. lol

I used to think the same way. "Oh sold out at the mint, the dealer will have it." You go to the dealer and there is a huge premium over Mint price. Then the dealer sells out and your screwed. Then you have to wait a year for a good deal on ebay. Now day If I like it I buy it.

Well, my dealer usually has them in stock, and he doesn't sell over mint price.

@Hobbes:
my bad. I try to see but not register what toronto1 has to say and didn't read your post in context.
Lasqueti Mint prices seems to be adjust only once or twice a year. So I guess they haven't come down yet with the dip.

Well, perhaps after a few more months of this when s/he hits 250 posts they'll start selling all of their RCM coins.. win for us perhaps? Penny each?
