I'm fairly new at this. Thanks for the input. Sorry the pics are dim. I'm trying to use a cellphone camera with a 16x loop and a horrible desk lamp.

Edit: Looks like it might be 1972P-1DO-008 on coppercoins.com

Yes, that's a doubled die! I believe it's #3. Compare it to these pictures to verify the die markers. Excellent find!

I don't think it's #8 or #3, it looks like the standard master hub doubling to me. Let's wait for a pro to chime in.

I don't think that the master die doubling has the bar under the L in Liberty.

I'd say it looks more like 003 based on the strength of the spread...nice find regardless.

@John1: You're crazy. Look at IGWT - that's a strong doubled die.

I can't match this to any of the varieties listed on coppercoins.com. Any other resources I should check out?

1972 doubled dies have been looked at to death, so I have to imagine it's one of them. Are you sure it's not #3 or #8? You could check doubleddie.com which might have a different set of markers you could line up and different pictures, but it's going to be the same doubled dies.

@CaptainEwiffo

Thanks. I went through the variety markers on doubleddie.com and still can't match it up. Maybe the quality is just poor enough that the die markers aren't visible... I dunno.

Concentrate on matching the doubling...markers are not always present.
