All I will say is WOW...darn. That's a joke. Fake bullion, apparently everyone wants a dollar.

I dig old school lead florin forgeries because I'm amazed by the processes that would have been used back then. I dig 1930 altered dates for the same reason & just the precision that is used, but then again the same people who are doing altered dates also alter 1923 Halfpenny's in which TOO many people are getting ripped off. I dig $2 circulating copies because I'm interested to know how they went about it.

But all of the others is absolute bull****.

I know I'm going to cop a bit of flack for my comments, but I had to say what I do & don't believe in.

Is the copy made of the same materials as the original?

This carp is really getting out of control, each to their own & all that.
My personal view on counterfeits is if you buy one you are supporting these counterfeiters, someone buys one they think OH we can make more & on it goes which is why there are so many trying to pull the wool over the eyes of unsuspecting or uneducated collectors these days, there are counterfeits in almost ever aspect of Numismatic collecting now.
I will not ever have a FAKE or altered date for that matter in my collection,it may give my lovely's a disease. LOL

Not that I am going to buy one of the silver dragons. But if I did I would certainly get it from a reputable dealer.

Nope, those copies are made of a brass alloy and silver plated. There are also fake Canadian Maple Leafs from the same manufacturer in mainland China with the same "spaghetti haired" bust of the Queen.

No coin (or bullion) is sacred to counterfeiters.
