At the time of the birth of Herod Agrippa I, Marcus Agrippa had just died and naming a potentially Royal child after him would be a way of showing loyalty to the Romans. The coin shown here was issued under Agrippa's grandson Caligula. Had Agrippa not died before Augustus, I think there is little doubt that he would have been the second Emperor. However, I can not find a match to this coin. Moushmov lists many coins of this type but none of them have the thing adorning the centerpiece. On top there are five apples. I understand that coins with slightly different legend configurations can be considered the same, but this has a different reverse image than others. Why can I not find it? Can someone help?
