Trajan, Rome 106 A.D.

Obv: IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P, Laureate head right, draped left shoulder
Rev: COS V P P SPQR OPTIMO PRINC, Victory standing left on shields below, half draped and holding wreath and palm

I like this coin. It shows signs of circulation, but it still posessed some nice details. I love coins with the SPQR inscription.

Nice! => we're now into your top-5 coins!!

woooo-doggie, dems some nice coins!!

Ummm, but I'll take no news as bad news at Camp Horseshow?

=> yah, some people just gotta try mixing archery and water ski-jumping ... sure at first glance, it seems like such a no-brainer (what could go wrong?) ... but sadly, after the first few injuries, it all of a sudden seems like such a poor idea, ya know? ...

ACG => I can hardly wait for your next "Final-Four" ... awesome job, so far!!

Yes we are! But I just want to make sure that everyone knows that these coins are not in any particular order. They are just some of the best or most interesting coins I have. I think everyone will like the final four.

Everything is A OK This past week was Staff Week, which is when we set up the camp for the scouts. The first week troops arrive tomorrow after lunch. I have off until Monday. There are seven weeks of campers in total

What Agrippa is that ACG? Is he related to the Herod dynasty in Judea? Agrippa I and II? or?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus...nius_Agrippa

Marcus Agrippa was not related to Herod Agrippa but they were named for him. At the time of the birth of Herod Agrippa I, Marcus Agrippa had just died and naming a potentially Royal child after him would be a way of showing loyalty to the Romans. The coin shown here was issued under Agrippa's grandson Caligula. Had Agrippa not died before Augustus, I think there is little doubt that he would have been the second Emperor.

Elagabalus

I love provincial coins, and this is a nice one. However, I can not find a match to this coin. Moushmov lists many coins of this type but none of them have the thing adorning the centerpiece. On top there are five apples. I understand that coins with slightly different legend configurations can be considered the same, but this has a different reverse image than others. Why can I not find it? Can someone help?

Nice ... wow, I love the Easter-egg-basket reverse!!

... but nope, sorry acg I've never seen a reserve that is similar ... that must be a lathe-mark on Elagabalus' cheek?

Cool coin
