Since I'm about to dismantle it, I thought I'd take a picture of and share with the forum the display I put in at the ANDA coin show in Brisbane last weekend. It came second in the Public's Choice, where show visitors could vote for their favourite display. First place was taken by a collection of Panda bullion coins. Those darn Pandas always get too much attention. Always on the news, zoos dealing with ownership issues, etc. I mean seriously, the almighty SAP deserves better treatment than that! Still, good job SAP. Nice display! (Good job on the warning, nice to know!)

Sap: Since you have gone to some trouble writing up notes on each coin, would it be possible to photograph each coin / note pair, and post it?
Perhaps we may all be able to learn a little, not just those who were able to attend the show.
Ta!

Quote: What do you used to hold the coin in place? Blu-tack. Since it was only going to be a temporary display, blu-tack was less likely to be damaging than the traditional nails or tacks. I wouldn't use it on a permanent display, since blu-tack is likely to be loaded with sulfur which would cause a tarnish spot. Quote: Since you have gone to some trouble writing up notes on each coin, would it be possible to photograph each coin / note pair, and post it? I did take some closer-up pics just in case the words weren't readable on the wide view: I like to make my displays appealing to as wide an audience as possible, not just to the collector of world and/or ancient coins. The trick is to find the balance between "informative" and "too wordy". This one might have been a touch too wordy. It was nice to include a "public service announcement" in the display too. If it stops even one tourist being disappointed that their "rare coins they bought in Greece" were fakes, then that would be a job well done. If you want better views of the coins themselves, you'll have to wait a couple of weeks.

Very well planned-out display! I especially like how the coins are linked to a timeline. Congrats on 2nd place!

We don't get to see a lot of your coins Sap. I suppose in times past you were a regular on this forum. So it is a pleasure to see some of your coinage. Especially how it was laid out in this display. Very nice!
Thank you for sharing and congratulations on Second place.
