I think if a member asks for a grade on a coin we should probably try and help out with it.

Trout, your coins look AU to me.

Nice ones.

Thanks shafta and gord , these may only be worth spot in Canada but to me they form a part of my Canadian 50 cent collection and I recon they are nice coins and at least "I" love them.
How rude of you 54dollarcoin, I would never answer a grading request as rudely and thoughtlessly you did, shame on you

Sometimes the truth does hurt! Thet are only junk silver as many of the coins we all have are! The only reason that a lot of later silver coins are worth anything above face is simply due to the fact that we have near 30 dollar silver. Sorry if I insulted anyone!

He was asking for the grade of the coins. He never asked if they are junk silver or what there value is.
The truth is I don't think your apology is much better than your junk silver comment.

I will say again their value is strictly based on silver even if they are MS63 which these are clearly not! It was never intended to hurt anyones feelings!! My, my , what a sensitive bunch! WOW!

54dollarcoin: You need to do less reacting and more thinking. The owner of the 50 cent pieces solicited opinion on their condition and not their value. It is unlikely a member as active as he is would expect great value out of mid 20th century circulated material. And after he clarifies that these are just hole-fillers you continue rambling about silver prices; do not project your misconception onto the original poster. If a child receives a 2012 cent as their first coin and wants to learn about grading would you tell them the condition is irrelevant? Where would this hobby be with that kind of unhelpful attitude?

Curb the hostility, express yourself civilly without exclamation points and don't feel so persecuted.

The good news is this will be behind us before we know it.

I'm with 54dollarcoin on this. Though someone should still attempt to grade it, he's just pointing out the fact.

I will shortly have the complete date set of these from 1937-present.
I have been collecting them for only about a year because I like the design and they seem to fit in with my Aussie coins.
I know most of these have only a silver value to them but would like to know the finer points so that I can grade mine correctly.
I have no interest as to the value of these as I won't be selling them anyway, All I am after is a grade so I can roughly apply that to my other coins.
I have no qualms about a coin being "bagged" for being a lousy grade that's all well and good.
The value of any coin I collect is irrelevant to me because I am more focused on the coin itself than the value of it.

Well. I am new here and I am interested on the grade.
It's because no matter if it's a ms 60+ junk silver now.

I beat 100 years later people won't consider it as junk.
