hey guys, I found two of these guys in an unsearched lot off ebay, while looking at the prices in my book, I've identified it as a 20 yuan piece thats worth near 300 dollars but I have so many doubts that this is just an ordinary piece lol. Please help me out, thanks so much in advance, I really appreciate it!

The denomination-mark isn't on the obverse below the portrait, it's on the reverse, on either side of the map. The denomination is 5 chiao (or 50 cents), dated Year 43 (1954). NGC database page.
