Thanks to everyone who replied to this post. I'm going to hold onto this coin at least for awhile and only sell if I need to. Thanks again, MM2

Quote: so with that grade, what is it worth now? probably in the $1000-$1200 range Still a nice return for a roll find....just not tops when it comes to value.

The coin looks allot different in the slab than it looked raw Quote:No need not to have graded it and have listed that grade as well as the proper DDO # designation. It is Graded as XF Details? Do you think they should grade a problem coin as problem free because of its variety? that doesn't make much sense to me. PCGS charges to add the variety on the label so if the submitter didn't pay for that service then it will not be added

In Coppercoins email to me, he said that it should be given a VF market grade plus a little for the details. I know RedBook value in 2011 for a VF was $1500. In 2012, the value shown for the same condition is $1750. Who knows how long this upward trend will last. Anyway, this is just to give an idea and is more then I would ever expect to see should I decide to sell. Regardless, I'm happy to find this scarce coin and appreciate all the great comments. HH everyone. BTW, with this last reply,I'm no longer a newby!

This has been a great thread ... and again congrats to the OP for the inspiring roll fine ... That said ... honestly wondering why the both of you could not exchange the pleasantries in the Bank lobby you both just spoke of rather than resurrecting a 3 month dead post. David

Nickelsearcher, I was surprised myself to see the post back on page one. Thank you. I'll be quiet now.

Thanks for resurrecting this post Chuckster. I don't know how it happened, but I missed this thread entirely the first time around. It was great reading it cover to cover.
Belated congratulations MM2! I've been concentrating on nickels lately, but this post may have prompted me to get a box or 10 of cents now too!
