Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC - Obverse Or Reverse Heavier?

ram96 Valued Member United States 417 Posts	Posted 06/30/2012 08:09 am When I dump a roll to search, seems that more end up with the reverse up and I have to turn them to see the dates. Now is this because of the design of the coin and the obverse is heavier or just by luck ? ram96 Valued Member United States 417 Posts	Posted 07/02/2012 7:49 pm If you take into account how much of the metal from the planchette is displaced by the design and striking of the obverse and reverse image, it it possible for one side to be heavier that the other. May be only a hundredth of an oz., but that could explain how they fall. Report this Post to the Staff
