Looks like an ebay coin. There's one guy that sells coins that look exactly like yours. No doubt it's cleaned.

cleaned and recolored.

rotations are fairly common on the 1863 but they only command a premium if they are rotated at least 90 degrees.

The coin looks MS but once cleaned.

Regardless of possibly cleaned or not, your question as to having it graded is up to you. Yes it could possibly be in the MS catagory but all that means is if you could sell it, you'ld only get about $80 to $100. If you spend the money on grading and slabbing, and it comes back as cleaned, you would have blown that cost. And also, reduced the possible now value. If it was mine, I'd just put it in my album and forget it.

Ok guys, thanks for all the input.

Are we 100% certain that it's not one of those sneaky early proof coins? lol

Just want to be sure before I throw it on ebay as an UNC details grade. I just can't stomach keeping a cleaned coin that had such promise.
