I've searched three or four boxes and a handful of customer rolls.

First box had 2 '64 halves, 10 40% halves, 2 proofs, and a handful of NIFCs.

Second box had 2 40% halves and a few more NIFCs.

Last few (I got them in smaller batches) had no silver and only a couple NIFCs.

But, from customers, the odds of finding silver seem inversely proportional to the size of the dump. Every time I get large amounts of cwr's, they are 100% searched. When I was a cashier, people would periodically pay with a habdful of halves, very often with several 40%s in there. Once a lady paid me with a 90% half because I refused to let her walk away from the register when she still owed me 45 cents... she thought it would annoy and confuse me!

But, if you are looking to strike it rich with boxes of halves... just save your time and play the lottery! You will have better luck in the long run!

This is partially my point in my post in https://goccf.com/t/124683
From my own Quote:

Here's my question: if you really take the negative sides of Coin Roll Hunting (instead of a hobby), what would you come up with?
I've heard the word "coin addiction" many times on this website. "Addiction" is meant to be negative.

Some people get addicted!

Quote:
As some coin roll hunters fail finding anything valuable from time to time, they would either give up or desire more boxes to hunt. As a result, coin roll hunting could waste labour and time for those who have the ability to devote himself/herself to a job with a higher revenue than Coin Roll Hunting. Once a roll hunter happens to be addicted to coin roll hunting, it may require counselling to exit the world of CRH and the agony of finding "useless" rolls.

This ain't complete wrong.

Other than this, back on topic, now I have figured that loose rolls are better to search than boxes. After all, however, chances of getting silver is still very little and spends labour. I usually go to Washington Federal and they always have rolls that contain at least three 40% silver each.

When I was doing it, I was getting around 1 in 300-500 as a 40% and about 1 in 1000-2000 as a 90%.
