Actually, the sad answer to your question is the number of kids who've read about hiding their money in a shoe, and think it seems cool. I've literally had shoes get emptied on my counter at work before. Now that is an interesting experience.


Ashtray change is also an option. This is super-obvious at work--pennies get calcified and dimes turn black, and both will be rough and smell funny.
