coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 07/25/2012 11:07 am While this coin does have signs of an improper alloy mixture causing the striping on its surface, I do not believe it to be obvious enough to warrant much - if any - premium value. I also believe the matte surface of the coin is due to environmental exposure that caused microscopic pitting on the surface, thus removing the luster. I do not believe that coin looked like that when it left the mint. Report this Post to the Staff
