As far as the Ancients in the lot you purchased, post them here. We'll be honest and give our opinions on their value. In reality, most of us don't buy coins with the idea we might make money on them. Fine if that happens. But we collect for the sheer joy of collecting.

Theres inherent value, dont forget. The £/$ figure doesn't reflect the true value that the coin holds! Before you find out how much the collection is worth, just consider whether you are happy with what you paid, because thats the important part. And hey, if its not worth as much as you hoped, there are always suckers like me around for you to con.

No but really I might have overpaid I'm a gambler I took the risk... Just for fun...
I like researching things and learning about them so coins is a lot of time doing that.

Obverse legend looks to read "constantius" which would make this coin actually Constantius II unless I am missing something.

I cant read the coin, but Constantine II coins read Constantinvs.

I think you are correct Kurt. It reads "Constantivs" which, I believe, makes it Constantius II.

Good catch Kurt, it is indeed Constantius II. The RIC number and date are correct I just typed the wrong son.

The only reason it caught my attention was because I sold the same coin on ebay a couple of months ago from officina B. The final auction price I got for the coin below with FREE SHIPPING was a whopping $7.00. Granted it isn't in the best of shape. Regards, -Kurt  |

You have a nice coin! I would not clean it! It looks to be already cleaned down to its protective patina. Any more cleaning will damage the coin and devalue it. Take it out of the plastic. Ancients are great because you do not have worry so much about messing them up with thumbprints and such.
With the moderns you have you should be careful of thumbprints etc. Definitely do not clean any of your modern coins. Cleaning a modern may devalue a coin by 50% - 90% of its value!
