I always look for luster differences between the open field surfaces and the surfaces between letters and numbers around the periphery of the coin. If the open areas look darker or duller that usually indicates friction from brief circulation. I see this effect on this coin, particularly in the obverse field in front of the portrait and on the reverse above the kangaroo. The discoloration on George's cheek and eyebrow also looks like the result of light wear.
I use that technique too but it can also be caused by the surface being touched and over time, toned. This is particularly common on copper and as such won't necessarily indicate wear. In this case I don't believe there is any associated wear so it should have no problems slabbing MS.
