I'm new to collecting and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my 1964 PENNY. is a Proof? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is called 'proof-like' haha... I had about two or three like this (I purchased 30 1964 pennies in bulk by accident off ebay).. They call them proof-like coins I believe :P

There was more than one proof 1964 penny, but that isn't it.

That's not proof like either, it's just been cleaned.

Jado, if this were a high-value coin, then you'd be well-advised to care for it, in order to preserve its value.
Step 1 would be: don't handle proof-coins with bare fingers; use cotton gloves.

beware of ebay when buying coins
The term proof like and mule like are a common description of coins from dud sellers on that site.No ethics required to sell on ebay which is a pity
