What are the normal prices for this type of error coin, they don't seem to be that expensive, in OZ a Australian penny like this would be $30.

Their value would be higher if they had a full date. I would be okay paying $30 for them, but we will see what the experts say

I'd say that price $9 +/- is good for an off center copper like the first one, but I wouldn't pay that much for a post copper example. And as fuzzy mentioned, a date is a huge plus.

edit; I'd also like to add that sometimes you can get these as low as $4. It just takes some patience as they're not always listed in the error category and sometimes people just don't seem to be bidding. It's just like everything else I guess.

Very common at coin shows. A full date one would usually run about $10 Maximum and would have to be a MS grade. One like that other one claiming it is a 81 and no date would sell for about $2 to $4. I have no idea how he knows it is a 1981 since there is not even a hint of a date.
Note in the discription it states the first one is a PRE 1982 coin and not necessarily a 1982.
These off center coins are very common at coin shows and really don't get a lot of attention.

Those are great prices, Carl. Tell the dealers to sell 'em on ebay! Even I would pay $3 for an off center copper.

I purchased a lot of about 5 misstrikes such as the first link you posted and 10 broadstrikes from the US for around $15 a little while back. They are fantastic! They would be worth heaps if they were Australian.
