I always liked the Lincoln cents with JFK stamped on them, so I was thrilled to find the opposite while roll searching ... A Kennedy half with good old Abe stamped on it:

mexican Zamora 1/8, coin is completely worn but the coutnerstamps (rare to have both) are deep and well struck: and not your typical 'counterstruck', but still pretty cool late 1800s Indian Head penny overstruck into a fraternity coin:

Wow, the force needed to strike that fraternity coin must have been pretty impressive. Very nice!

You can buy a letters-and-numbers stamp set pretty much everywhere, and so there's pretty much no way of finding information on a counterstamp if it's nothing but a number, or just one or two letters. Most likely, someone was just fooling around.

Picked this one out of a roll the other day. Now I have LA and NV. I wonder if I could ever find all 50 states! By the time that happens, there might be more than 50 to find.

I have a bunch of others somewhere but these were sitting on the table so I took a picture. Not sure if the ones made with an electric engraved would be considered counterstamped or Hobo halves. I found 2 of those P halves a year ago and then for a year and then one box had 10 or so of them in it along with the & which seem to be of the same font and size and stamped depth.

My only one is the typical JFK stamp, but I found it in an interesting place. THE GROUND. It was literally sitting on the asphalt with the reverse side up. Picked it up, thought, oh just a 69-D, and then did a double-take. What is that?! That's my first counterstamp story for you all.
