Looks like a fake to me for the following reasons The rim looks typical of a modern die. The edges of the design are just too perfect while the detail seems very naive, I am not experienced with 8 reale pieces but that piece seems very very wrong. I await to see the comments of others

The 1801 counterfeit is a VERY common one that can be aged to look much better than it is. It is usually found in flea markets where the seller is not a coin person. '

I refer to this type as a "Tourist" fake because they are very common wherever tourists gather for street sales. They are sold at very low prices and the hope of making a profit convinces the tourist to make a bad purchase. By the time the tourist realizes it he is far away and the vendor is long gone.

Cruise line passengers are perfect targets for this rip off. They can not get back.

nima_mj2002 : fake coin, the portrait design and the edge denticles are not correct. (this is an easy one, you can see that by comparing it to a genuine one)

"They" threw some toning on this specimen (even factoring in the yellowish lighting)... useful for study purposes to get an idea of what should look odd when the design isn't cartoonish and you have to go to secondary features:

This coin is another fake, it has the same "off" portrait style (among other things)

Those are Spanish Carolus III 1 escudo and 1/2 escudo.
The 1 escudo is from Madrid, essayer MF. It's in a very nice condition with a superb color :) Value ... hum, without my catalog, I'd say between 150/200 USD.
The other is from Sevilla, essayer C. Around 150 USD.

Both look genuine to me, congratulation :)
