1942 Very Noticable Die Crack - Coin Community Forum

KLTCOINS New Member United States 14 Posts	Posted 08/23/2012 5:14 pm I know the 1940's Pennies are notorious for errors but this error really surprised me. This isn't a small die crack... it's pretty large lol if you can't see it (its hard to miss) it's through the GIVS of GEORGIVS) There's also a small one between the 1 and the C of cent but I apologize I don't have the best quality pictures to show that one. I love those 1940's die cracks myself, and maybe that makes me somewhat biased, but I haven't seen that particular one before so even in its circulated condition I'd say it's worth a few bucks for sure. I'm fairly new to collecting but I was stunned that I didn't see this the 1st time! It took me going the pile 3 times to find it. I may just keep it in my collection since I've never seen such a pronounced die crack before (even online). lol But who knows. for the right price maybe I'd sell it.
