It is my opinion that they will turn black over a number of years. sel => hmmmm, I may have to rethink my current storage system? ... currently, each one of my coins is displayed as a binder page with 8.5" x 11" photos of each coin along with interesting facts about the coin and/or about the God on the coin, etc ... the "pockets" where the actual coins sit are "not" PVC, but I am not 100% sure about the 3-ring sheets that house the pockets? (both items are manufactured by NUMIS which "should" know enough to avoid using PVC products, but I guess I should keep a very close eye on them to ensure that they are not being damaged) ... ... thanks for the heads-up!!  |

One thing about greens is that they are not always easy to photograph. This is especially true of glossy, hard surfaced greens. We always say 'better in hand'. Sometimes green is the enemy. I won't risk attempting to clean it though as I have no idea what lies beneath. There's some beautiful greens here! I especially like the Nero Dupondius. An interesting article on photographing glossy patina too. I have some very glossy and difficult coins to photograph. I've had the best luck shooting in overcast daylight--pretty common where I live. Here's another of my favorite green patina coins, first show under a halogen lamp, then in overcast daylight.
